COVID-19 Service Cancellations at SOV

Home / Happening Now / COVID-19 Service Cancellations at SOV
Family,

The health and safety of our congregation is vitally important to Shepherd of the Valley. On Thursday, Bishop Laurie sent out a churchwide message regarding the COVID-19 pandemic: http://oregonsynod.org/index.php/covid-19/
As a precautionary response to the pandemic, and following Bishop Laurie's recommendation, all worship services at SOV are cancelled through Sunday, March 22nd. This includes Sunday and Wednesday evening services. Please help get this message out. The church council plans to meet next week and will discuss further action, if any. As we all know now, this is a rapidly changing situation, which means we must be flexible.
With that said, I can share that Pastor Al and Tom Barnes are working on setting up some sort of online worship service. I will keep you posted and send out a link if everything goes to plan!
If you are going to be out and about, please be safe and follow CDC's recommendations as we face this pandemic together (but a safe distance apart): https://www.cdc.gov/
Be well!
In Christ's Service,
Jacob Tabor
SOV Council President
