"…to behold the beauty of the Lord…" Psalm 27:4
So much beauty in just a couple of days, and all surprise. At the coast taking in the moon, beaming from a cloudless sky. On Friday night, a blue moon (the second full moon in a calendar month), waking during the night just to see the silver light shimmering on the still wet beach, the waves themselves seemingly rejoicing. And in the morning, watching a moon set where we had seen the sun do the same just 12 hours before.
And then there was the spouting of whales just a short space off the shore. Plume after plume of spray, one of the Creator's most magnificent creatures breaching the water again and again. Could not take my eyes away from such beauty that was right there!
Ah, to behold the wonders of the Lord, and all a gift.
Again, in praise of the Creator,
"Creator of all things, marvelously and wonderfully made. Help us, in the face of such beauty, to love well and serve all. May we speak gently and listen wholly. May the mind of Christ be ever guiding so that our lives add to the beauty that abounds. Amen."
