"O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation." Psalm 95:1
It is favorite old, tried and true verse. Sometimes it just seems to ring more profoundly true than others.
Brings to mind the songs offered up on Easter Sunday of course. But there is a joyful noise at other times as well. There was the singing in chapel this morning. The little ones were at once disinterested and barely able to keep from leaping about as we sang.
There is much more "joyful noise" though. The birds flitting around the back yard in the early morning, their distinctive songs warming up the day before the sun can. And long after the sun has set, the tree frogs singing to one another with seeming discordant croaks, lifting my heart yet again.
On a particular Easter Sunday or not, may we make, and hear, a "joyful noise".
In the peace and power of the Creator,
"We are a chosen people, called for the purpose of being sent. go, therefore, to shine the light of Christ into the darkness, to speak truth to falsehood, to love in the midst of hatred and to live as those who belong to another. Amen."
